Commercial Construction

 A & L Construction prides itself on quality work, and their team gets the job done on time—and on budget.

Our commercial construction projects generally fall into one of three categories:

  • Small scale - This can include home renovations, remodeling projects, or small buildings such as treehouses and sheds.
  • Medium scale - This can include projects such as small businesses, shopping malls, and water parks.
  • Large scale - This can include office buildings, hospitals, and high-rise buildings.

We are happy to submit a detailed bid for each project. The size, budget, and scope of a specific project will include a detailed plan on how much money it will cost—from breaking ground to completion of the build.


Small-Scale Construction

Small-scale construction projects are short in length and require fewer crew members and less equipment. It often involves projects like fixing sewage systems, remodeling and renovating building interiors and exteriors, or building simple buildings such as a treehouse.

Medium-Scale Construction

Medium-scale construction involves upgrading, expanding space, and building projects from the ground up. Unlike small-scale projects, medium-scale projects are a bit more complicated. They often take several months to a year to reach completion.

Large-Scale Construction

Large-scale construction projects are essentially “megaprojects,” such as hotels, airports, skyscrapers, and government buildings. This type of project is funded by major commercial development companies and government agencies. They require large teams with heavy equipment and can take several years to complete.

The Construction Bidding Process

Most commercial construction projects obtain bids from multiple developers. Our bids will include the following:

  • Building blueprints
  • Material line items
  • Projected timetables
  • Blueprints

We also take into account weather and time; we know that these two items can be the costliest elements of a project’s budget. Weather can be an issue in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley. This adds both time and expense to the project—but we plan for these contingencies.

Pre-Construction Services

We’re pleased to offer pre-construction services because these decisions will have an impact on both your schedule and your budget. We work closely with you, your designers, and your architects from the very beginning. We’ll identify and address any potential design, permitting or procurement issues, which can save time and result in a lower overall project cost. Pre-construction services include:

  • Budget and design management
  • Code and constructability reviews
  • Determination of utility availability
  • Estimating
  • Project planning and scheduling
  • Site evaluation and development
